Kingdom Youth Center
Billy Clark is a youth pastor, barber, and the Founder/Director of Kingdom Center.
Locations include Leesville and Deridder; but more is needed in Leesville; it's a new location.
BLUF: Kingdom Center is a drop in center for teens 13-18. They sign in and out but come and go as they please.
WHAT THEY PROVIDE TO THEIR COMMUNITY:
- FOOD ASSISTANCE: ready-to eat, single serving, microwaveable, self-contained meals and snacks. Goal is no dishes and shelf-stable since they have limited refrigerator space
- LEARNING CENTER: tutoring, a place to do homework
- GAME ROOM, everything from arcade games to pool
- LIFE SKILLS CENTER: they teach basic auto skills and have a shop on site
- WORK PROGRAMS: they run concession stands and provide lawn service. Concessions are purchased up front and resold. They have three zero-turn mowers and advertise lawn service to the community. Teens are afforded the opportunity to earn their own money.
